Moksha

Moksha means emancipation or salvation from the cycle of life and rebirth. For achieving this highest goal one needs to unite with God. Our Wise sages pointed out three distinct paths to accomplish this union (yoga) with God and thereby achieve moksha through :

Devotion (Bhakti yoga) – Through devotion or bhakti to God one is absorbed in the thoughts of God and thus offers his or her actions to him. One learns to look within and ultimately realize the true self.

Knowledge (Jnana yoga) – Through Knowledge or jnana one can attain a stage when ‘true knowledge‘ downs upon him or her through meditation. This true knowledge is liberating and gives self-realization.

Selfless action (Karma yoga) – Through selfless action or karma one learns to serve  others. This diminishes egoistic feelings and one attains an all embracing love, which gives self-realization.

The following tips will help you in attaining your path :-
  • The first step towards moksha is purification. Sit before an image or idol of Lord Vishnu before sunrise. Take some clean water in the left palm and then place the ri*/ght palm over it and recite the following mantra  five times :
‘Om apvitrey pavitro va saravasthangato api va,
Ye samreit pundarikasham sa baryahabhiyantrey shuchi’
‘Om punatoo, pundarikakshaye punatoo, pundrikakshaye punatoo’.
After reciting pour the water from the palm over yourself.
  • Choose the path of salvation that attracts you most and try to develop the path.
  • Start some light breathing exercise in the morning on empty stomach. There are many kind of exercise but the safest is breathing.
  • Worshippping a shivlinga made of brass or bronze helps to attain moksha
  • Add white and golden shades in your dress and furnishings. These shades motivate spiritual development.
